Cameras: Capturing the Moment
by Obie Elkova

Cameras come in many different types and are even more
varying since the advent of the digital camera. Prior to
these new types, there were two main types that most people
would be familiar with, the first one being the 35
millimeter. This camera was (and in some cases still is) the
choice of professional photographers everywhere. The photo
is excellent with these cameras and they are easy to deal
with and use.

One downside to the 35mm is that you must have the photos
developed at a photo lab in order to see how they turned
out, unless you have your own darkroom. Another traditional
film camera is the 110. These cameras were not as popular
due to the poorer photo quality. These are commonly used by
children and people who could not afford the more expensive
35 millimeter. However for a first-time photographer these
are a good learning tool for snapping off a few shots.

Going Digital

Once with the development of technology, this domain has
made incredible progress. Digital cameras are now more and
more complicated. They are now equipped with card memories
in which, depending on their capacity, you can stores a lot
of photos. You can take pictures in different sizes and even
adjust the level of details, textures or shadows.

The advantage of this development on digital cameras market
is that, prices are now lower and available to every person.
You can easily buy now a high resolution camera at a
reasonable price, and even have results which you can
compare with the old 35 millimeter camera.

The technology used to store the digital pictures has
advanced as quickly as the camera technology. Usually, you
can store over 50-100 pictures on camera's memory and if you
buy additional memory you can store up to 1000 quality
pictures. In the past, it was pretty difficult for people to
print the images due to the quality of the printers. Now it
is a lot easier and even most Wal-Mart stores have card
readers and professional printers that can print all your
pictures from the camera while you take care of your
shopping.

Either way, this is an effective solution if you don't have
your own printer. Nowadays the benefits to digital photos
tend to outweigh the disadvantages. One key advantage is the
ability to share these photos quickly and easily with family
and friends worldwide via email and the World Wide Web.
